Great Coffee Table, Sturdy and Stylish
I received my coffee table in solid packaging, and there was no damage at all. It took me about 15 minutes to get everything ready for assembly, and the actual setup took me around an hour and 15 minutes since I was taking my time with the instructions. The table looks way more expensive than it actually is—it's got a modern and contemporary vibe, with a bit of an art deco touch. The wood seems to be nice quality, so I think it will last a while. I'm really pleased with my purchase, and I'm even thinking about getting the matching nightstand once I get my new bed. I’m pretty picky, and this fits my style perfectly. Great quality for the price!
This is a solid piece of furniture for what I paid. It's tough to find anything that isn’t made from particle board nowadays. Although it's not real wood, it’s surprisingly good quality, sturdy, and looks nice. I went with the walnut finish, and I'm pleased with the color. The finish does have a bit of a synthetic look, but it really doesn’t detract from its overall appeal. I’m giving it 5 stars because it arrived well packaged, and the assembly instructions were great!

Easier to build than I expected
Ordered this one because the pictures looked understatedly elegant, and was not disappointed. The box is heavy, as all the pieces are pretty solid. Some reviews said the unpacking was messy…it was mostly styrofoam pieces but not too bad. It was difficult to slide the large pieces out; you kind of have to tear open the box to do that more easily. I couldn’t find the instructions — they were probably somewhere in the box, but not easily accessible even after I took out all pieces. However, you can find a pdf of the instructions on the Hawkins Woodshop page, which is what I used. Now I’m not great at building furniture, but these use some specific written steps and that helped—I never had any moments of confusion while building. You can build alone; though I’m sure a second pair of hands would help. I’m not handy and not strong and I was fine. Took me close to 2 hours with no breaks. As for tools, a screwdriver helped, and it comes with an Allen key. I saw some people used wood glue to hold the side pieces in; slamming them in and using the floor to press down did the job for me. The finished product looks great!
