Wow!
My husband and I have been sleeping on an all foam mattress the past 10 years. It was ok, but I started having many episodes of back pain this year. I was advised to get a firmer mattress. I found this one on Hawkins Woodshop and was skeptical to get it due to how affordable it is and it having springs but arrives rolled up. It arrived a day earlier than promised, but we waited to unroll it until Friday morning since we weren’t sure if we could sleep on it same day. It says it needs up to 72 hours to fully expand. This mattress was a heavy beast. With my back issues, hubby had to do the majority of the work. I was disappointed that when it was unrolled, the sleeping side was facing the floor, and the top/bottom were on the sides. We had to flip and rotate this large (king), heavy mattress. But that was the worst of the experience. We unrolled it at 5 am, and by the time we went to bed around 8:30, it seemed to be expanded enough so we decided to sleep on it. Wow! Best night’s sleep in a long time! Even better the second night! It was firmer than our foam mattress ended up before we got rid of it. But it was still soft enough that you don’t feel like you’re sleeping on a hard board. It has the right amount of support. I’m normally a side sleeper, but I have been sleeping a lot more on my back too because it has such good support! Any way I sleep, this has been comfortable and supportive. I love how tall the mattress is, and it seems to be made out of good materials. Obviously I can’t speak to the durability, and we’ll see how well the springs hold up, but so far I am so happy with this purchase. If you’ve been having back pain and/or need a new mattress, I highly recommend this one. My back pain has significantly improved to where I hardly have any after 2 nights on this mattress. I am so grateful I took a chance on this one. And I like that it was assembled in the usa.

Good Mattress if you have Back Issues
We purchased both a queen and a king in this mattress and so far the experience has been very positive. From the first night it was clear that this mattress is truly extra firm and not just firm in name only. It offers a stable supportive feel that does not sink or sag which is exactly what we were looking for. We are both in our late forties and very active athletes so proper support is non negotiable. I have had back surgery and waking up without that stiff sore feeling is a big deal for me. So far my back has felt good in the mornings which tells me this mattress is doing what it is supposed to do. It keeps the spine aligned and provides consistent support across the entire surface. The 14 inch height gives it a substantial solid feel and it looks great on the bed frame. There is no motion issue when one of us moves and it feels very stable when getting in and out of bed. It is not plush or cushy and that may not be for everyone but if you need firm support this delivers. We did add a mattress topper that helped since we have lower platform beds. Height is certainly shorter than most. Size is right for both beds. Since it is still early I cannot speak to long term durability yet but based on how it is performing now we are very happy with the purchase. For anyone who needs extra firm support especially if you have back issues or live an active lifestyle this mattress has been working out well for us.

Support and comfort
My husband and I have been sleeping on this mattress for a few weeks now. It’s pretty unbeatable for the price. Our old mattress was 5 years old and had zero support. I probably spent hours looking at different options. My husband needs a firm mattress with enough support for his 250 pound frame, and this fit the bill. It took shape immediately upon cutting the plastic off. They do send a cutting tool to assist with easy removal. I let it sit out for about 8 hours before bed. There was no smell which I greatly appreciated. First nights sleep was positively terrible since my body was not used to a firm mattress. Every night got better, and I sleep quite well on it now. I am predominantly a side and belly sleeper, and I am very comfortable on my belly on this mattress. I also feel my husband’s movement far less than our previous mattress. The only thing I could note is that the mattress doesn’t appear to be quite flat. It appears to have a very slight slope downward where our feet rest. I notice it especially after I make the bed and have the blanket lying flat on it. Hasn’t appeared to affect the functionality, but I’m not sure what it means for its longevity. Could just be the mattress I received. Could eventually rise and be fine. Overall, I am very happy with it and would recommend others to give it a try that need a firm mattress.
