Four people can sit down here without anyone eating with their elbows pinned. Six is possible in a pinch, but the table was sized for four, and that is worth stating up front so nobody buys it hoping to host a holiday crowd.
The tabletop is finished in acacia veneer with corners softened into a gentle curve rather than left square. Natural grain runs across the surface, and the effect is warm and quiet instead of showy, which is what makes the set work equally well for a Tuesday dinner and for company on Saturday.
The four chairs are the part people usually skimp on and later regret. These are padded with thick foam and wrapped in breathable linen, and the backrest is curved to follow the shape of your back instead of standing straight up like a kitchen stool. That curve is the difference between getting up after twenty minutes and staying at the table talking for an hour. The chairs are solid wood, standing on rubberwood legs.
The finish deserves a note. During production the set goes through a brush wash and then receives a lime powder coating, which settles into the grain and pulls out the texture of the solid wood. If that lightly weathered look is not what you want, the powder simply wipes off and you are left with a cleaner surface. Two looks from one purchase, decided in your own dining room rather than in a showroom.
The footprint is compact, so apartments and smaller dining areas are a realistic fit rather than a stretch.
