Sturdy desk but had a manufacturing flaw
I would have given this 5 stars. This desk was easy to put together, great directions and is a sturdy piece of furniture. The only problem I had with it is that the desktop piece is the last to come out of the box and when I flipped it right side up (after having 75% of the desk assembled) realized it had a blemish on the top. It's not a massive ding but since it's a black desk, is very noticeable. When you spend $150 on something and decide to splurge on the $30 on shipping because you realized it is not after deciding to order it, you want it to not have any flaws. I reached out to Hawkins Woodshop who offered a whopping $10 since it "does not impact the functionality of the desk" when I asked if they had any touch up paint for it that would match they said "we do not have any touch up paint, maybe you could find some on Hawkins Woodshop". Excuse me?!?! I am not spending more of my money for a flaw that is your error. The only other downside to the desk in black is that I am noticing all the fingerprints. That's on me, I know that black does that just an fyi for those considering purchase. It does come with felt pads for the legs which is nice and the drawers have plenty of space. The other consideration is that for my shoulders to be at the right height for typing my chair has to be higher which keeps my feet not flat and my thighs up against the underside of the drawer. I am sure this is different for everyone depending on the chair being used.
