Get yourself a drill with a phillips bit or a cordless screwdriver for assembly - makes a big difference. The screw spots are marked with shallow indents so they line up nicely, but you'll need to drive them into the composite material yourself since the holes aren't pre-drilled. Instructions are pictures only, no text, but they're pretty straightforward to follow. The diagram at the end showing the finished cabinet with all parts labeled was super helpful and we kept looking back at it. Took us about 3 hours total to put it together and it looks nice. We're using it as a TV stand and people keep complimenting it. The navy color gets a lot of attention. Good value for what you're getting.

It took me about 6 1/2 hours to put together. Steps 1 and 2 were a bit unclear, but the assembly video helped clear things up. Each fastener pack even had an extra piece. The video shows a young woman suggesting a drill, but I wouldn't use one—it could mess things up. It comes with a nice reversible screwdriver. The blue color is great, kind of like dark blue jeans. The drawer slides work well, but they need to be in the right spots to fit. I'm not a fan of the brown top; I might stain it a different color. It's sturdy, all the drill holes were good, and there was no damage—packaged well. I ordered it on Wednesday, expecting it in 5-7 days, but it showed up Saturday, just 3 days later! This cabinet is gorgeous, sturdy, and holds just about everything we needed it to. It was definitely a challenge to put together—took me around 4.5 hours and had a few tricky moments, but I managed to get through it. Just take your time and lay out all the pieces first. If you’re patient enough to assemble it, you won’t find a better deal at this price point. It's way nicer than other cabinets I've seen similarly priced. What impressed me the most, though, was Colby's service. When my cabinet arrived, the box was damaged and a few pieces were missing, but Colby was responsive and sent a replacement right away. Shipping was careful and nothing arrived damaged. Problem is a lot of the holes weren't drilled all the way through, which made putting it together a real pain. Since it's composite wood I was dealing with sawdust everywhere while I worked on it. They do throw in a screwdriver which is nice, but the grip sheds these little green plastic bits all over the place. I've had better luck with Ikea stuff honestly—their pieces go together smoother and feel sturdier overall.

This is a cute little sideboard and a good value for the price. I believe the quality is superior to similar sideboards at this price point. While it was a bit cumbersome to assemble, once finished it is sturdy and looks beautiful. The instructions were easy to follow and it had plenty of storage. Up close you can tell that it is not real wood (chip board with a pretty realistic finish), but that’s okay. The price point makes it worth it. I did add fluted window film to the doors so you could not see in the cabinets.
