This definitely requires two people to put together. The item arrived in two boxes and included a small screwdriver/Allen key, though the Allen key isn't needed. I used a screwdriver and drill instead, and kept the power level at 4 to avoid over-tightening and stripping the screws. The instructions are just basic diagrams, which can be a bit tricky, but if you study the images, you'll get it. It took me a few hours to assemble by myself. Having a second person would help a lot when lifting the top onto the base. It looks great once it's done, but I doubt it would hold up well in a moving truck.
