Great Budget-Friendly Bed Frame That Gets the Job Done
I’ve been using the Allewie Full Size Platform Bed Frame with Wooden Headboard and Footboard for a few weeks now, and overall it’s been a solid upgrade from my previous setup. Assembly was straightforward, though it definitely helps to have a second person for a couple of steps—mainly when attaching the headboard. The instructions were clear enough, and all the parts were labeled properly, which made the process smoother than expected. Once assembled, the frame feels sturdy. There’s no creaking or wobbling, even when moving around on the bed, and it easily supports the mattress without needing a box spring. The wooden headboard and footboard give it a clean, simple look that works well with most bedroom styles—modern but not overly minimal. The height is also practical. There’s enough clearance underneath for some storage bins, which is a nice bonus if you’re working with limited space. If I had one minor complaint, it’s that the wood finish is a bit more basic than it looks in some photos—not bad, just not as rich or “premium” as it appears online. Great low price frame, sturdy and easy to put together
My original worry with this frame were sparse reviews about the support beams for the mattress falling out (and tons on multiple other frame contenders), this isn’t the case—they feel sturdy and took a little bit of effort to fit into place. Assembly took me roughly 30-45 minutes by myself after getting everything out of the box. Directions lack words but the images are easy to understand and all the parts are labeled. This is my first night using this frame, so far there is no noise and it feels very stable. I bought a 10 inch mattress for this frame, the weight of the mattress seems to make it slide less, but there is a little bit of a slide if you’re pushing on the mattress to make the bed. I have noticed a few people complaining about the height of the headboard (saying it’s too short) but I find that with a 10 inch mattress, the headboard is a perfect size—but does sit just a little bit above the mattress so it will slide under the headboard if you’re pushing on the end of it for some reason. Pros:- easy to put together- Sturdy- Support beams (in my case) stay put and don’t fall out- A 10 inch mattress is relatively stationary- No noise (time will tell)- No need for a box spring since there’s support beamsCons:- Box is very heavy, I’m 5’ and had to drag the box in with some help- If you have a lighter mattress, you may experience some sliding.- Some parts take some effort to go into place. In my case the two metal beams that connect the headboard and the footboard took some strength to shove into place (my tip if this happens to you; place the headboard against the wall and sit facing the footboard, align the metal pieces so that they can slide into place, then pull on the metal piece connected to the footboard until they slide into place)- Black paint/coating chips relatively easy if you have to force pieces together, but the color underneath is dark grey and not that noticeable
