Good Hall Tree for the Money
Overall, this is a pretty good hall tree. The mdf, or whatever composite material the seat and hook boards are made from, seems very dense and sturdy. The metal frame went together pretty well. This thing is going to get a ton of use for our family with young children. What I liked about this hall tree was that, with the metal frame, I could always make a new seat and hook boards if the mdf starts to get warn out. I did have to remove 1 star from this for 2 reasons. The first and bigger of the two issues was that one of the threaded inserts in the bottom posts that hold the leveling feet was of a larger size than the other three. This means that the screw on the leveling foot just slides right through and bottoms out. Luckily the other three still work so I was able to level it. However, definitely a defect. The second issue was with assembling the hook boards onto the frame. I had a fair amount of difficulty getting them on because the holes weren't lining up very well. I almost dismissed this as maybe some slight warpage in the frame. However, even after I got the first board completely on, I had to seriously struggle/squeeze the frame to get the bolts in for the second one. I think that having the first board on would have corrected any slight warp so I am deducing that this is a tolerance issue with the hole placement.

Good coat rack
This is the perfect piece for hanging coats and hats. It's not bulky at all yet holds a good number of coats securely. It's a wonderful way to have the coats hung up and out of the way, instead of on the banister or on the back of the couch. Easy to put together, sturdy and great value. Also good for small areas. Don't pass it up.
