Great Edge Protector – No More Bumps!
I recently finished a small project in my bedroom, which is a bit cramped due to all my furniture. I squeezed a narrow table in between my bed and the window, which is meant for behind a sofa, but it has electrical and USB ports that are super handy. The problem is, my twin XL bed is right next to the table, and I've been waking up a lot from bumping my knees on it. After a ton of bruises, I tried using some black foam rubber, but it sagged and didn’t help much. I finally got annoyed and searched for a proper edge cover and came across these thick Edge Protectors. I went with the Roving Cove HeftyFit Edge Protector in onyx Black. I read some reviews mentioning issues with the adhesive tape it comes with, so I opted to use Birllaid Mounting Squares I bought at Hawkins Woodshop. These squares work well and can be removed without wrecking the surface. It does take a bit of effort to peel them off, but I'd rather do that than have them leave a mark. I even took some photos during the process since I’m an artist and have a metal burnisher to help. Just stick one side of the square to your furniture, burnish the edge, pull off the plastic flap, then press the Edge Protector down as you go. It was pretty straightforward. I managed it alone, but having someone else around would help. I'm thrilled with how it looks and feels, and I’m sure it's going to save me from future bumps. I would recommend this product and suggest experimenting with the adhesive options!
