    Our futon uses a dual-layer foam design. The top is a firmer, high-density foam for support and to prevent sagging. The bottom is a softer foam for comfort. For best results, use the firmer side facing up.

    A new mattress may have a slight, harmless smell. Just unroll it in a well-ventilated room for 24-48 hours. The odor will vanish completely, leaving you with a fresh mattress.

  • What is the mattress thickness in inches?

    The mattress thick is 4 inches. Due to hand-measuring and compression, a slight variance of 0.5-1 inch is normal and does not affect comfort. For full thickness, unroll in a sunny, well-ventilated area for 48 hours.

Based on my sister's feedback after using the futon on a tata e mat, she seemed to have a decent night's sleep. The only thing to note is that it might be a bit firm for those with chronic pain; they may want to add some folded comforters underneath for extra cushioning or consider getting a thicker futon.
