I spent weeks debating between about four different beds, but I finally settled on this one, even though it was a bit pricier. I really liked the design and the storage options. It came in two boxes, and they didn’t arrive on the same day, which was a little surprising. Unpacking it was a bit daunting with all the pieces, but the assembly was straightforward thanks to the instructions and some good podcasts to keep me company. I did hit a snag with the light bar installation. The instructions had a spot where I put it that ended up blocking the shelves, and removing it after the tape had stuck was tough and ruined it. I reached out to Colby, and he was helpful, compensating me way more than what the light bar would have cost. I finished putting it together in about 4 hours while taking care of my toddler, and I’m impressed with the support from the cross bars. It feels sturdy and strong—I’ve had more expensive beds that didn’t offer as much support. The shelves and drawers are functional, and there’s no wobbling at all. I was worried about the headboard shifting when sitting down, but it stays put, so I’m comfortable placing delicate items there. Overall, I'm pleased with how it turned out!

Great frame – a bit tricky to assemble!
I really love how this bed frame looks, especially with all the features for my small space like extra storage, charging ports, and the LED lights. I specifically wanted something lower to the ground for my little dog, and the distressed barn board style fits perfectly with my other furniture. I did second-guess my choice a bit since some reviews were positive while others were not, so I was nervous about my purchase. The first box arrived quickly, but the second one was delayed. Colby was responsive and helped me communicate with FedEx to track it down. When it came to building, it took my friends and me about 5 to 5.5 hours to get it done. At first, I was worried the frame seemed narrow for my mattress, but I just focused on finishing it, and in the end, it came together beautifully. My only minor issue is that the pieces of the footboard don’t sit completely flush, but it’s hardly noticeable. Since my space is tight and the bed is against a wall, I only put together 2 of the drawers and used some storage bins underneath. This frame feels solid and seems to be a good choice. But I do have a couple of concerns. The drawers keep sliding out, which is really annoying. I haven't added anything to them yet, so I'm hoping that some weight will help keep them in. Also, the height is a bit off from what I expected; it looks taller in the pictures. It's actually pretty low, and the headboard is shorter than me, and I'm 5 feet tall. Overall, I'm happy with it for now.

Customer service was top notch. We were shipped a wrong size plug insert. Not a big deal. It happens. Contacted Hawkins Woodshop and within a week was delivered the correct pieces. No hassles and very clear communications through the whole process. The drawers at the side of the bed are loose (there are no tracks that the drawer sits on). It does have a lock feature by lifting slight and pushing into place where it slides down and locks into place but, can be frustrating to find the small hole in the dark while partners sleeping. We our socks/underwear/ loose garments in the side drawers. Other than that no complaints. Instructions were spot on. All assembly pieces/screws etc were there plus extras. We have a heavy kings size bed on top with no noises or squeaks. Very good quality.

I will say I loved the look of this bed frame fromThe photos and it had everything to meet the needs of my small living space…. Extra storage, charging ports, and the led lights were such a nice touch. I was also wanting something lower to the ground to make it easier for my small dog to get up and down without hurting his back or joints. The distressed barn board look matches the other furniture in my home as well. After a lot of back and forth, should I shouldn't I, I decided this was the bed frame I wanted. I will admit I didn’t have 100% confidence in my order as lots of the reviews raved about it and then there were several (with photos that simply didn’t) so I was very worried I’d made a mistake. To some the price tag may not be high but for me- this was a major purchase, so I was nervous. I received the first box quickly, but box 2 got held up. Hawkins Woodshop provided quick responses and information which was very helpful in my conversations with FedEx to locate the second box. When I started to build, it took 3 of us about 5-5.5hours to get it fully assembled. I was very worried in the early stages as it really appeared that the frame was going to be more narrow than my mattress, but we decided not to panic and keep building. In the end most everything came together perfectly, and the bed looks beautiful. My only “complaint” or little criticism is the footboard, the pieces aren’t flush when they are together, they’re a bit off- however this is minor and hardly really noticeable. Because my space is so small and my bed is against a wall I did only construct 2 of the drawers and put a couple of storage totes under the bed on the wall side. The second of the pullout shelves I decided to utilize in my living room for my books, as it is a near perfect match to my fireplace and tv stand! This frame is impressively sturdy once all together, and it really looks quite lovely. I would recommend the bed frame, and to set aside a chunk of time to build. I’d also recommend not rushing or getting too panicked if you can’t envision it right away, once you get well into the build it does come together nicely! I’m happy with the purchase overall :)

We looked for quite a while before landing on this frame. Glad we did. The drawers do not attach to the frame, which is what we wanted. Others have noted this as a con, but for us it was a pro. I purchased 8 magnets and put 2 on the top corners of each drawer. That holds them to the frame and is much better than the included latch system for the drawers. I am giving 4 stars because for the money, it's one of the best solutions. If the wood was thicker, this would be 5. The instructions are easy to follow. It does take a fair amount of time to build, but results were worth it. Had an issue with 2 parts and Hawkins Woodshop got a solution to us very quickly and was responsive during the whole process.

I had about 4 different beds in my cart for about 3 weeks. I thought about it long and hard and finally decided on this one, although it was a bit more costly than the others. I really wanted the functionality, storage and look of this bed. It is delivered in two separate boxes and may not deliver on the same day. It was a bit overwhelming unboxing it and seeing the large amount of pieces, but the instructions and patience while listening to podcasts made it easy to put together. The only bump I did run into during assembly is the instructions about where/how to install the light bar. Following the picture diagrams carefully and installing it as instructed to placed the led bar in a place that would not allow you to then install the shelves. Peeling the light bar off after it was already tacked down with the included 3M tape was near impossible and damaged it beyond use. I messaged Hawkins Woodshop about this and they compensated me a large difference. More than what the light bar would’ve cost alone. I continued with the assembly and finished in about 4 hours doing is alone and at times entertaining a toddler. I love the amount of cross bars for support of the mattress. It adds so much stability and feels truly strong. I’ve slept on more expensive beds with less support. The use of shelves and drawers is great, so functional and there is no wobble. I was worried that with sitting down or getting up would make the headboard wobble but it doesn’t budge and I feel confident in putting more fragile items there. Really happy with the final result!
