I just finished assembling this bed and I couldn't be happier! It was easier to put together than I thought—about 3 hours by myself, and it turned out looking fantastic. I bought this bed in the king size, cream color, Chenille upholstery back in 2023 when we bought our new house. I love it. It's beautiful, elegant, and sturdy. It wasn't very hard to put together and is very well built. 3 years later the bed is still going strong. The only reason I decided to replace it with the black velvet because the light color shows dirt so easily. I have two large dogs that follow me everywhere and tend to brush up against it when following me into my bathroom. Even though they are bathed once a week, you can tell where they touch it. I have used my upholstery cleaner on it at least three times since I bought it. It's not too difficult to clean and the material has held up fine but, is time consuming. So, I went through my order history and found the 1rst bed that I purchased. Clicked on it and chose the darker color. My husband and I tore down the old this morning and put up the new. It went together pretty easily, especially since we had already done it with the old bed. Here is what I noticed, the cream color looks to be better made. It's bigger than the black one I just bought, even though they are the same bed frame. We lined up the two foot boards and you can see the difference in size. Same measurements in the add. The side boards on the black are only 3/4 inches thick vs 1 and 3/4 on the white bed (which fits the description photo.) The slats aren't quite as wide either. Other than that, I love it. We'll see how well this one holds up compared to the old one in which I'm giving to my son and daughter in law.

Beautiful bed. Exactly what I was looking for at a reasonable price! It took about 2 hours to assemble (the longest part being the headboard). It’s no noise!! And for wooden planks it is very durable but I would definitely recommend getting a box spring as well. Let me just say, this bed frame is stunning. It’s sleek, and looks like it belongs in a design magazine. But before we dive into the beauty of it, let’s talk about the adventure I had getting it here. So, I ordered this gorgeous frame, and—like a normal person—I naturally listed my old address on the order. Whoops. I realized my mistake the next day but didn’t panic... Until I realized that FedEx would soon be dropping this beautiful beast of a bedframe off at an address I would be moving two hours away from in just 3 days!! Picture me, sitting there, staring at the tracking number, Googling “how to rent a U-Haul trailer on short notice” and “what is a trailer hitch?” And thinking maybe I could ask a random stranger passing by if they could help me load it onto a rental truck. It wasn’t looking good. I messaged Hawkins Woodshop (and by "messaged," I mean sent a desperate cry for help that probably had too many exclamation points), and to my absolute shock then immediate dejection, they responded immediately, but it was to say that they would not be able to update the address for me. I didn’t know what to do, so naturally I messaged again asking if they could do anything. Again, they said that they could not. Succumbing to my bed frame fate, I checked the shipping status on FedEx’s site and to my wonder and amazement, I noticed that the city under my name was my new city. Could it be?? Did they actually update my address despite telling me they couldn’t? They absolutely did! These people were my bedframe fairy godparents, making sure my dream bed would arrive at the right address without me having to call in the National Guard or bribe a friend with a lobster dinner to help me move it. Fast forward a few days: FedEx delivers my bedframe, and the adventure continues. The box was huge. Like, I wasn’t sure if I had ordered a bed frame or a small, portable apartment. But did I give up? No. Did I do it alone? Yes! Now, for the actual assembly—despite the instructions saying it would be easier with two people, I did it solo like the true independent woman I am. It was surprisingly easy once I realized the instructions weren’t written in some ancient language and that I could, in fact, follow them without losing my mind. I did, however, consider throwing in the towel halfway through when I realized the bed had a lot of screws. But in the end, it was so worth it. Would I recommend this bedframe? Absolutely! It’s beautiful, sturdy, and elegant.10/10, would assemble solo again (but maybe double-check the address first next time).

One person could do it but its recommended to have a helper, if anything to balance one side while you put other side together. The size fit perfectly with my Cali King Mattress. Worth the money
If I could I would give this bed a 4.8 star rating because I was hoping the baseboard had a bigger roll on the top than it does I don't know what the technical term is. It also is not as dark of a cream then it shows in the pictures but when I put it next to something white I could tell that it was cream. I am in the middle of redoing my whole bedroom and this was a perfect addition to my bedroom. I am so happy that I chose the cream instead of the gray. So far no noise. It says this is a two-person job but I'm disabled and I did it all by myself granted it would have been nice if I would have had my electric screwdriver but it was in my closet buried from all of the stuff blocking it. There were a little issues getting on the side wings but I figured it out the instructions were pretty easy to understand it seems sturdy. I do wish that the legs at the footboard were wood instead of plastic. The padding is soft yet firm so you don't have to worry about it falling apart or getting imprints in it of your body. I also love the feel of the fabric. So happy I did not get the Velvet.
