I have to say, I was on the hunt for something decent around my local stores like Target and Home Depot, but they all had the same boring stuff. I couldn’t find what I wanted for my setup, which includes a deep desk with dual 27" monitors and a separate soldering table. I needed something that would light up both areas without creating shadows, and then I discovered this gem at Hawkins Woodshop. Unboxing it was a breeze—no assembly required. You just clamp it on your surface and plug it in. It fits on pretty thick surfaces, too—my desk is 1 1/8" thick, and it has room to spare if needed. The light is steady with no flicker, and I really like the variety of color temperatures available. You can switch between different brightness levels or smoothly adjust to your preferred setting. The side panels can be turned on and off as a group and can also fold down, which is convenient. The only downside is that there's no telescoping feature, so if you have a smaller desk and want it positioned close to your surface, you might need to get a bit creative. The auto brightness surprised me too—it brightens up when the room gets darker, which is the opposite of what I thought it would do. But honestly, I prefer to control that myself. Overall, this light is for anyone working at a desk or doing crafts. I’m loving it so much I bought two for both my tables and I’m happy with that choice.

Great lamp for screen time

Best desk lamp I've owned...!!!
This lamp has some nice adjustability, allowing me to tilt it forward and backward, plus angle the main light in different directions. The end wing-lights can also be flipped up to brighten up darker rooms. It’s a great option if you want to keep the main lights low or off and just use this one. It’s super bright! I like the 5-6 step brightness control and the adjustable color temperature from warm at 2,700K to cooler at 5,000K+. There’s a setting for any space. I got the white model, and it looks great on my modern desk, whether it’s walnut or lighter wood.

But after receiving a replacement, I'm back to 5 stars! I've changed how I use it - now I keep it on the 4th setting instead of the highest. It doesn't overheat anymore and still provides lighting. I put the plug on a surge protector now too. I love the design and the wide spread of light. I'd recommend this lamp, just be cautious about the settings!

I have a deep desk with dual 27" monitors on moving arms, plus a separate soldering table, and I needed good lighting without shadows—something they just didn’t offer. Then I found this light at Hawkins Woodshop. It's awesome to see a clever idea turned into a great product. Unboxing it was a breeze. There's no assembly required—just clamp it to your desk and plug it in. It fits well on a pretty thick surface, about 1 1/8" thick, and it can even accommodate a bit more. I haven’t noticed any flickering; it provides smooth, clean light. The options for color temperature are great, and you can easily switch between presets or adjust the brightness to your liking. The side panels can be turned on and off together and can fold down 90°, or you can even flip them upside down on top of the main lamp. It comes fully folded in the box, so just unfold it and you’re good to go. The only downside is that it doesn’t have a telescoping feature. If you want to mount it at the back of a smaller desk while keeping it close to the surface, you might need to be a bit creative. The auto-brightness function was a surprise; it actually brightens in lower light, which I didn’t expect, but I prefer manual control anyway. Overall, this light is a choice for desk work, crafting, and more. I’m happy with it and ended up buying two for both my tables without any regrets.
