The flexible stem is for positioning—it's sturdy enough to hold its place, but it can't bend all the way to 90 degrees. I love that the two light bars are adjustable too; they don’t blind you while studying, which is so important when you're putting in long hours. The only small drawbacks are that the light bars can get pretty hot and the stem can't fully bend at 90 degrees without curving. Great desk light for non-big light people
I love this thing! I'm an online college student, so I use my computer desk for all my learning. This light is super nice. The max brightness is very bright - it lights up my entire workspace.
