It's a nice-looking and solid piece that arrived in great shape and was easy to put together. I’m happy with it. For anyone who's worried about the tricky parts, I suggest watching the assembly video that Hawkins Woodshop has available. It’s only about 4 and a half minutes long and is helpful, even if you’ve built furniture before. Just a heads up: make sure to keep the two sizes of cam locks separate during assembly. We did find putting the springs on the lift brackets a bit tough, but using pliers made it a lot easier. To deal with the small screws, rubbing them on soap helps them go into the holes smoothly. Once you get the first screw in each bracket, it’s easy to finish the rest. The only tiny issues we noticed were that the label on the side was hard to remove and there was a lot of foam packing to get rid of. Honestly, we were a bit worried about the low price, but it is a great buy.

To anyone worried about the negative reviews, I recommend checking out the video on their site that walks you through assembly. It’s worth the 4:30 minutes, even if you're familiar with putting furniture together. Almost all parts are the same, so as long as you don’t switch up the legs or flip the compartments, you should be fine. Just make sure to watch the video and follow the instructions in order, since they’re a bit mixed up. Everything was there, and they even included extras for the fasteners and dowels. Just keep the two sizes of cam locks separate! Putting the springs on the lift brackets was a bit tricky, but using a pair of pliers to hold the spring end helped. For the small screws, I rubbed them on a cake of soap to make them easier to screw in and made sure to take them back out for the final install. Getting the lift top on was easier if I just put one screw in each end to hold it while I worked on the rest. Only a couple of small issues: the label on the side was tough to get off, and there was a lot of foam packing material to deal with. We were a bit wary about the low price and did some price comparisons, but in the end, I’d say this is a great buy and a solid product.
