Good Quality for the Price
I was moving on from a big IKEA coffee table and wanted something nicer without breaking the bank. This table exceeded my expectations. It doesn’t feel like the flimsy particle board you usually get from IKEA. I got the gray one, and it looks really nice. It has some weight to it, which makes it feel more solid. The riser part works well, especially for a table in the $100 range. Assembly was a bit tricky. They use those annoying screw designs similar to IKEA's, which left some small gaps in the table, but they’re not a big deal. Just make sure you pull from the center when you move it, as it wobbles a bit otherwise. I also found it tough to put together by myself—especially when you’re attaching the brackets for the lift. Overall, this table is great for the price. A little hard to assemble solo, but I'd buy it again if I needed to stick to a budget.

I always check reviews before buying online, and this Lift Top Coffee Table from Hawkins Woodshop definitely lives up to the hype. It's a nice-looking and solid piece that arrived in great shape and was easy to put together. I’m happy with it. For anyone who's worried about the tricky parts, I suggest watching the assembly video that Hawkins Woodshop has available. It’s only about 4 and a half minutes long and is helpful, even if you’ve built furniture before. Just a heads up: make sure to keep the two sizes of cam locks separate during assembly. We did find putting the springs on the lift brackets a bit tough, but using pliers made it a lot easier. To deal with the small screws, rubbing them on soap helps them go into the holes smoothly. Once you get the first screw in each bracket, it’s easy to finish the rest. The only tiny issues we noticed were that the label on the side was hard to remove and there was a lot of foam packing to get rid of. Honestly, we were a bit worried about the low price, but it is a great buy.

Very heavy and sturdy. Lift top works well.
This piece was simple to assemble, took a little over an hour thanks to the clear instructions. It's definitely better than IKEA quality. There are way more fasteners than I've seen with IKEA products. It's sturdy and heavy.

Great lift for dining comfort
I've had this coffee table in my living room for a couple of months, and it has really changed how I enjoy my TV time. The lift-up feature is just what I was looking for! It's for eating while watching TV because it raises to the ideal height for dining from the couch. No more uncomfortable leaning over a low table or juggling plates on my lap. The lift mechanism operates smoothly and feels sturdy. There's no wobbling at all when it's up—I can eat and use it like a regular dining table with no issues. I'm quite impressed by how well this mechanism is designed. As for putting it together, it was a bit trickier than IKEA stuff, but that might just be me not being the handiest. Still, the end result is worth the extra time. Just be ready to spend a little more time on setup than you might think.

Smooth lift mechanism and great height
I've had this coffee table for a couple of months in my living room, and it's completely changed my TV watching game. The lift-up feature is just what I was looking for! Perfect for eating while watching TV: this is where it excels. I love having meals while watching my shows, and the lift-up mechanism adjusts the table to just the right height for dining from the couch. No more awkward leaning over a low table or balancing plates on my lap. The quality of the lift mechanism is impressive - it operates smoothly and feels strong. There's no wobble when it's raised, so I can cut food and use it just like a dining table. I'm truly impressed by how well this is designed. As for assembly, it was a bit trickier than expected compared to IKEA furniture, but that might just be my lack of handy skills. The end result makes the setup worth it, just plan for a little extra time.

I always take my time with online shopping, reading through reviews and questions before buying. This Lift Top Coffee Table from Hawkins Woodshop really lives up to the hype. It’s a nice-looking and solid piece that arrived in great shape and was pretty simple to put together. We’re happy with it! To anyone worried about the negative reviews, I recommend checking out the video on their site that walks you through assembly. It’s worth the 4:30 minutes, even if you're familiar with putting furniture together. Almost all parts are the same, so as long as you don’t switch up the legs or flip the compartments, you should be fine. Just make sure to watch the video and follow the instructions in order, since they’re a bit mixed up. Everything was there, and they even included extras for the fasteners and dowels. Just keep the two sizes of cam locks separate! Putting the springs on the lift brackets was a bit tricky, but using a pair of pliers to hold the spring end helped. For the small screws, I rubbed them on a cake of soap to make them easier to screw in and made sure to take them back out for the final install. Getting the lift top on was easier if I just put one screw in each end to hold it while I worked on the rest. Only a couple of small issues: the label on the side was tough to get off, and there was a lot of foam packing material to deal with. We were a bit wary about the low price and did some price comparisons, but in the end, I’d say this is a great buy and a solid product.

Great quality, easy to build because of good parts
We are used to Ikea furniture and this is definitely a step up. Sturdy and looks very good assembled. Quite heavy to carry around and it looks like it's made from good-quality materials. During the assembly, we found the parts and drilled holes well aligned and relatively easy to put together. The last step of putting the top part on was quite difficult, but we managed after some thinking. In the end it wasn't that hard to do, once we figured it out. My one suggestion would be to have better instructions for the last step.

Simply stated, this is an excellent buy and a quality product.
When we purchase an item online, we shop carefully and make sure to read all the reviews and Q&As for the product. This yaheetech Lift Top Coffee Table meets all the positive reviews: it is an attractive and solid piece of furniture that arrived in perfect condition and assembled easily and accurately. We are well pleased. To address the negative reviews, our first recommendation is to view the video on the Hawkins Woodshop site that takes you step-by-step through the assembly process. It is worth 4:30 of your time even if you are experienced at furniture assembly. Because almost all the parts are symmetrical, there is little chance of error except possibly swapping the legs or flipping the compartment sides resulting in misfits and leaving the impression that holes are drilled incorrectly. Watching the video and following the instruction pages in the correct order (they are stapled strangely) should prevent this. Not only were there no missing parts but there were also extras for all the fasteners and dowels plus all parts were packaged and labeled clearly. There are two sizes of cam locks that do need to be kept separate. We did find installing the springs on the lift brackets a challenge but using a small pair of pliers to hold the end of the spring rather the loop allowed us to place the loop over the peg easily. When working with small screws we find it easier to rub them on a cake of soap to lubricate them and to install them in the pre-drilled holes and then to remove them prior to installing the final parts. Also, when installing the lift top, it is quite easy to install one screw in each bracket at the top at the nearer end. This process then makes it simple to pivot the bracket up by lifting the top and to place a screw in the other end at the bottom; the other six screws in each bracket then go in easily and the table is completed. Our downsides are minor; the label on the side is difficult to remove, and there is a lot of foam packing material that creates a disposal issue. We were a little nervous about the low price and did a lot of comparison shopping. Simply stated, this is an excellent buy and a quality product.
