Decent started bed
I bought this full size mattress for my 2 1/2 year old. We have always transitioned our kids into normal size beds after the crib was done. First, the bed edges aren't the great for support.. Sitting on the edge for me, as a grown adult, was a bit.... Saggy. For a teen or kid though, that may not be an issue. The actual bed, laying on it seems very supportive and comfortable. Second, I ordered a 10 inch and the size seems to be perfect.! Third, there wasn't really a smell to it coming out of the box. Also, it said to allow 24-72 hours to fully 'inflate' and settle. But in about 30 mins, it was fully ready for at least my 2 year old to sit and sleep on it. It is a firm, but soft bed. He likes it. I would definitely recommend buying one. Especially for the young ones.

You can't stomach sleep on memory foam & it was actually hurting my back. I needed a firm mattress but without "metal" coil springs. Found it! Keep in mind this is not a pillow top, it's a euro top. Much thinner but very supportive all over. I wanted a bit more fluff so I got a pillow topper for this mattress. It'S perfect! And I never use that term lightly, ever. The extra topper is just thick enough that I can still stomach sleep & comfortably side sleep. This mattress is the best if you want/need extra back support. I really missed that springback from a coil mattress. You "sink" into memory foam. My back feels much better after a week. Note;do wait 72hrs for full inflation. No, mine did not have heavy chemical smell. Just a bit of manufacturing odor that dissipates after 24hrs. I wonder if it would work on a mechanical platform?

Comfy Hybrid Mattress
Upon arrival, packaging was neat. The mattress was suctioned and sealed/laminated-like, rolled up, and boxed up. Smelled new like it would with a brand new car and easily fully plumped up within 45 minutes to an hour. Great price for a hybrid mattress if you’re looking for a short term bed that’ll last you maybe 5 years. Although it is a bit unstable at the edges, the bed feels medium firm- not too soft, not too hard, but comfortable enough. I am able to get up without disturbing my partner since there is a thick top foam layer. So long as you’re not a heavy sleeper and won’t fall off the bed, the fragile edges shouldn’t be an issue. My partner and I both fit on this full sized bed, smaller bed for preference but a queen could suffice as well.

Great mattress for your child’s first big bed!
Purchased this mattress in November for my daughters first big girl bed (she’s 4). We went with the 10 inch and purchased a frame as well from Hawkins Woodshop. When the mattress arrived, it came nicely rolled up into a smaller than expected box, but was very heavy. Took my husband and I both to carry it upstairs but that wasn’t surprising seeing as it was a whole full size mattress stuffed into a box. We unboxed it, laid it out in a spare bedroom and cut the plastic to allow it to expand. We did not have any chemical smell like some people mention with these boxed mattresses but we still left it to expand and air out for a few days. By the time we were ready to move it, it was fully expanded and looked like a normal box-store mattress! Moved easily from one room to the other. Normal full/queen sheet set and comforter fit great. After laying on it with my daughter every night for a month, I can definitely say this is a great first mattress for any child! It is definitely firm, so if you are used to a soft bed, this may not be for you (I have a pillow top mattress so I don’t think I could sleep on this full time), but after a month of use I can honestly say my daughter sleeps like a rock on this thing! My favorite feature is that it is a hybrid, so it has coils as well as the foam. The coils allow me to lay in bed with her until she dozes off and let’s me sneak off the bed without any movement or squeaks from the mattress.
