I was a bit worried after seeing some one-star reviews, but I'm glad I gave this a shot. We have a thick mattress and it fits perfectly without the foot rail sticking up. I think some of the issues with holes not lining up might just be user error. Everything in the directions showed how to adjust the pieces so they matched. I put it together by myself in about an hour and 15 minutes, no help from my husband needed. The only small issue was the bed sliding around a bit too easily. I added a mattress topper from MyPillow underneath, and it really helped keep things in place. There was way too much styrofoam everywhere, which was a bit annoying, but that’s not a deal-breaker. We spent a lot more on a cloth headboard two years ago and that was a disaster, so I’d buy this again.
