Hardware feels sturdy, and while you don't need the instructions, they're included and easy to follow if you want them. One thing though—it has a pretty strong smell when it arrives, kind of like new denim. Aired it out for a few days and sprayed it down and that took care of it.

Finding a king size headboard under $250 that actually looks nice, doesn't cost a ton, and feels solid is tough. I put this together myself without needing my boyfriend's help for once!
