Ordered both the regular nightstand and the one with the locking top. The lock is just a button—pretty hard for a little kid to mess with. Assembly isn't too bad, though my fiancé did cut his finger on one of the metal sliding parts, so watch out for that. Works great overall and looks clean. One of my drawers is a bit wobbly but that might be from how we put it together, not sure. The nightstand is sturdy. The LED light has red, green, yellowish green, blue, cyan, and purple options. The top outlet works well, but one USB port gets taken up by the LED so you lose a slot there.

Love this thing! Feels sturdy and well made. Just make sure you check the dimensions before ordering since pictures can be misleading about the actual size. I measured mine ahead of time so no surprises, but I know some people skip that step and end up disappointed. I've put together a ton of furniture from boxes and I'd say this one is maybe a 6/10 on difficulty. Takes around 45 minutes to an hour to build on your own. Don't let that scare you though—I'm not great at this stuff and I managed fine. The main challenge is figuring out which way some of the pieces are supposed to go based on the instructions, but it's mostly just using your head. If you mess up the orientation you can always unscrew and flip it around, no big deal. Really impressed with how solid this night stand is. The charging ports on top that sit flush are a nice touch too—two 3 prong outlets, 1 USB, and 1 USB-C. Would recommend it and I'm already thinking about grabbing another one for the other side of the bed!

I’m really pleased with these shelves—they're sturdy and exactly what we were looking for. Everything arrived in condition with no missing parts. My only issue is that if you decide to use the lights, they take up one of the two USB ports, which seems a bit counterproductive. If you're looking for brighter lights, I found that mounting them to the underside of the tray works best. Otherwise, they're good for just lighting up the open space.

Best night stand I've ever purchased!
Love love love! Feels super sturdy and quality! Make sure you measure the dimensions for wherever you're putting it as I know it will look bigger in the pictures than what it actually is in real life. Since I pre-measured it next to my bed I wasn't surprised, but I know some buyers will skip that part and be deceived by the sellers pictures. I've built about 30+ pieces of furniture that come in a box and I would rate this about a 6/10 difficulty. I will start timing the build times in the future but I would estimate about 45min - 1hr build time solo. Don't be intimidated though, I'm no engineer and built it just fine. If you're good at building stuff this will be as simple as screwing in a lightbulb, I however am just an average joe. The only reason I rated this higher in difficulty than most items I've built is because you really need to be able to read the directions and figure out the orientation of some pieces. It's not really clear at first which way certain pieces go. The directions will give you some clues but for me it was mostly common sense that helped me. But, if you don't get it right the first time it's not permanent, just unscrew it and flip it around! Very happy all in all with this product and was impressed at how structurally sound and sturdy this night stand is. The charging ports at the top that sit aesthetically flush are also a nice handy feature. Two 3 prong outlets, 1 usb, and 1 usb-C plug. I would highly recommend this to anyone and I'm already thinking about buying a second one for the other side of my bed!

Just feels a little flimsy. Great stand, but the silly thing is you have to use one of the usb ports for the included lighting…. The lighting should be integrated into the electrical plug that you have to plug into the wall for the USBs to work. Poor engineering decision. I would not put too much weight in the drawers as the bottoms are just a step above the cardboard the stands were delivered in.

With drawers it’s hit or miss on assembly from Hawkins Woodshop. This did take some time to build but it wasn’t as difficult as other drawers and my drawers slide smoothly. Other ones I’ve gotten its taken time to build, and the drawers turn out wonky or don’t slide smoothly. My only qualm with this is the adhesive on the led strip is not very strong and my strip won’t stay up completely but that doesn’t bother me since you can’t see unless you’re crouching down looking at it.
