Beautiful Chair - Assembly Takes Some Effort
I’m really happy with how the Skandiquip Nursery Rocking Chair turned out. Once it was assembled, it looks sleek and feels like a quality piece instead of a flimsy baby chair. The white cotton sherpa cover is bright, and the thick foam seat is so cozy, for lounging with a book. However, I almost threw in the towel during assembly. The two arm pieces were tough to fit together and took quite a bit of force to connect, which had me worried I might break something. But eventually, I got them locked in and wrapped up the rest of the assembly in about 10 minutes. Once it’s together, it feels solid. Overall, it’s a stunning design that’s sturdy when assembled, though just be ready to put in a little muscle to get there.

Perfect little rocker for small spaces!

Beautiful chair but a challenge to assemble
I might have just had bad luck, but my package arrived pretty messed up. The chair itself looks great and is solid. However, it came partially open, and I found black smudges on the white chair I ordered. Putting it together was quite the struggle; things didn’t line up well at all. Seriously, when it says to only tighten things up to 60% at first, you really should! It took way longer than it should have. Also, like others pointed out, the back is a bit short for resting your head, and the seat isn’t wide, but it is comfortable. As a side note, Colby was nice, and I think the trouble was more about shipping than anything else!

The two arm-chair pieces were super difficult to get to fit together. It required a lot of force at the connection points — I worried I might break something — but finally managed to lock them in, and then did the final connection last. After the struggle with the chair pieces, assembly only took 10 minutes max. It ends up feeling rock-solid once built. Overall: gorgeous design and sturdy when finished. But be ready to put in a little elbow grease to assemble it.

Hard to assemble
I don’t know if I was just unlucky or what but this package was a mess. Don’t get me wrong. The chair is beautiful. Sturdy. But the package came open and the chair came with black all over it and I ordered the white chair. Also, this chair was extremely hard to put together. Nothing lined up. When it says do not tighten anything past 60% at first, please listen. It took me way longer than it should have. And like others have said the back is not very long and there is no place to rest your head and the bottom is not very wide either, but it is very comfortable. Updated: Hawkins Woodshop was very kind and I truly believe this was a shipping/delivery issue!
