Corduroy is a good call for a piece you plan to actually live on. The ribbed fabric here is soft to the touch, thick, and wear resistant, so it keeps its texture in a spot that gets daily use instead of going shiny at the seat. Under the upholstery, high-density sponge foam is paired with quality spring packs, which is why it holds you up rather than swallowing you. The armrests on both sides are wrapped, and they give the seat a sense of enclosure once you settle in.
The proportions are the real story. Overall it measures 45.3 inches wide, 64.6 inches deep, and 35.8 inches tall. The seat itself is 45.3 inches wide and 46.9 inches deep with a 17.3 inch seat height, which means an adult can stretch out full length with room left over, and two people can share it sideways through a movie. Weight capacity is 300 pounds. The color is black.
Cushioning includes one large back cushion and two lumbar pillows, so you can build the support where you want it. Upright against the back cushion for reading, or dropped back with a pillow under your neck for a nap.
It arrives compactly boxed and no assembly is required. Open the box, let it expand naturally, and give it 48 to 72 hours to reach full loft. Patting it lightly speeds the recovery along. If the fabric shows packing wrinkles, a pass with a steam iron takes them out. That is the entire setup, with no hardware, no tools, and no diagram to decipher. For an apartment living room, a reading nook, or a bedroom corner that has never quite worked, it does the job of a sofa and a chaise at once, and it comes through the door as a box.
