Best desk ever
I loooove it very study durable and gives grand i will say i hired a handyman to put together because it is a lot of parts and you will use all of them it took him 5 hours but the results was amazing im going to paint and hang cuetains to finish but it was a great choice

I love this desk, assembly instructions are easy to follow. Assembly time was 4-5 hours. This desk is durable and has a lot of storage capacity. I am a repeat customer, I purchased this same desk in black 11 years ago and this year decided to redecorate my office and purchased the same desk in grey. In my opinion other desks do not compare to the quality, style, durability, or price as the Sauder brand. I would strongly recommend this product for your home office.

Sauder Palladia - Glacier Oak desk and file cabinet
We had a difficult experience with delivery and assembly of the Sauder Palladia L shaped desk. Delivery did not occur on the days Hawkins Woodshop sent, everything arrived 5 days early. Ups sent one delivery person to manage 5 very heavy cartons of furniture (we purchased the desk, file cabinet and bookcase) and while he was extremely helpful, the boxes needed to be "walked" end over end to reach the inside of the house. Had the delivery been on the days scheduled we may have had help. We are in our late 60s and early 70s so this was a critical issue. At the onset we discussed doing the assembly but when all of the furniture was delivered at the same time we decided to hire someone we have used on larger assembly projects to ensure timely completion. Once the desk was assembled several Twist Lock Fasteners (connecting desktop with privacy panel) shifted, causing the holes to chip at the edges. Luckily no serious damage, however we took the opportunity to reinforce the join between the desktop and privacy panel with angle brackets giving the desk more stability and structural integrity that may have been missing initially. It took 4 hours for two experienced individuals to fully assemble the desk, file cabinet and bookcase. We purchased the Glacier Oak color; it is represented accurately online (with my monitor) and it is not white, it's more of a light gray with wood grain. As an out of the box, diy furniture, it has superb style with beautiful wood trim and solid metal hardware (Although I wanted the square not round pull) the veneer is lifting at small, random places on the base of the desk; I will probably use some wood glue to prevent it from loosening further. Overall the furniture has a high end look with a great price point but structural integrity and veneer quality could be improved; delivery should include two persons. My rating does not include delivery experience, just thought potential buyers might be interested.

Nice, solid, functional desk.
I had purchased a similar style desk for about $275, but decided that it just felt and looked cheap, so I gave it away. This Sauder desk was quite a bit more at about $650, but I had built a Sauder file cabinet in the recent past and was impressed by the structure. The desk matched that experience. It is very, very heavy with a good, solid feel. Everything was there and undamaged in the shipping boxes. I made sure I was right there with a dolly so the FedEx guy couldn’t drop it out off the truck, which is where I am guessing most of the damage that people report occurs. The two boxes are each fantastically heavy. It is particle board with a thin (very thin) cherry veneer, so you have to be careful to not scratch it during assembly (or ever, I suppose). I do not think that veneer is wood, but more of a printed paper bonded to the surface. It’s fine looking from 5’, but certainly not “fine furniture”. I got rid of the keyboard tray structure as it was a bit narrow and forced you to sit perpendicular to an edge, instead of at a 45 degree angle. The tray is non structural, so I don’t think the top is any weaker as a resultI am satisfied with the purchase so far. Be sure to allocate the better part of an afternoon for assembly.

Good the bad and the ugly
The good... The multitude of pieces that come with this look very nice and feel fairly sturdy for being fake wood. It's packaged extremely well. Hard to get damaged in shipping. The bad.... It comes in two boxes. Box one had the pieces for my desk. Box two had the pieces, hardware and instructions for a corner credenza. So after opening box one and spreading all the pieces out. I wasn't able to put it together. The ugly.... At this point I was not happy with sauder at all. And I let them know it. Without paying attention to the book saying it was for a corner credenza. I opened it up and looked for part H to begin building. There is no "H" so I assumed that they didn't put all the pieces in and I let quality control know about it. You're not going to see the same pieces when the book is for building a credenza and you're trying to build a desk. I want to apologize to the quality control team. However, someone made the mistake of giving me the wrong box. And I wouldn't have had enough time to put it together before my wife would need it to do her job. So I had to return the entire item.
