I got this mattress for my son since he was ready to move on from the standard vinyl crib and toddler mattress. We wanted to get him something new, and he helped pick this one out. I also got a quilted mattress protector since he still has the occasional nighttime accident, and so far, it's been working great. He's been more comfortable and isn't tossing and turning as much, plus he actually looks forward to bedtime now! He used to wake up sweaty, but that hasn’t happened since we switched to this, even in our warm spring and summer months. The mattress arrives vacuum sealed in a medium box, so it's pretty lightweight and clean with no rips or weird smells. It fluffed up nicely right out of the package, although the corners took a bit longer to fully shape up. That shouldn't be an issue for an older child, but it's something to keep in mind for younger kids still in cribs. It fits snugly on his bed with no gaps and is similar to a foam mattress for adults, pretty firm for a child but might not be enough support for heavier adults. My 75 lb boxer sank halfway down when he laid on it. The fabric is smooth and soft, and my son loves it, so I'm really happy with the purchase.

Best Dog Bed Ever!
Bought this crib mattress for our three senior dogs. They all prefer to sleep together and dog beds just don't cut it for them. I can tell you 100% that they all love this mattress as it holds it shape and doesn't sink to the floor with all of them on it. We're talking an 80lb Boxer/Bulldog, a 70lb Pitbull and a 9lb Chihuahua. I know that is not at all what this is made for, but we are super impressed with this mattress and how happy and less stiff our dogs are sleeping on it. We've bought many other brands and types and have had to stuff pillows and those egg crate foam mattress covers between them and the sheet cover for comfort for the dogs, but this one has not needed anything extra. We do use waterproof crib sheets on it to protect it from any messes, and the sheets have proven to be enough as the mattress still looks and smells brand new. I lay on it with each of them from time to time for snuggles and it does not hurt my arthritis while laying with them.
