Advice/Instructions lacking but good bed frame
I got a king size and this bedframe seems to be fairly stable but this was a puzzle to put together. Which is what I enjoy doing, like with ikea furniture, this was more difficult. The directions are basic and I had to look closely at how the pieces are oriented when putting together. Most of the time you can make educated guesses for the pieces that are lacking. Although when you are supposed to apply the led light strips it should have a line specifying to when and where it is more like a sidenote. And then at the end you’re like “when was I supposed to add this?“This took approximately 4 hours to put together with a dinner break in between. It feels pretty darn sturdy with all metal frame. I use a 12 inch mattress and it comes to the bottom of the material on the headboard. Challenges: other than the directions being sub par; the headboard has wood screws that go through the metal frame into the wood. The frame does not have anything that is countersunk, they use flathead screws instead of pan head screws so they stick out. These can catch on things and detract from the design. Also the headboard has small wood screws that go into L brackets, these brackets did not come close to the wood so the screws would not bite into the wood. Had to use a hammer to bend the brackets so they were close enough to secure it with the screws. The kit comes with all the tools needed, although it comes with a stubby number one Phillips screwdriver, which barely works for this job. I recommend having your own number two Phillips screwdriver that would work better. Also do not over tighten the screws in the wood as you’ll strip them out and the screws into metal will cause the square tubing to deform. Advice: I saw a lot of people complain the light strips fall shortly after applying them, but if you clean the surface with isopropyl alcohol before applying, it stays. Same goes for the adhesive cord holders. It’s been a week and they hold in place. On the wooden pieces it has plastic inserts with pre-drilled holes. You’re supposed to screw the frame through these pre-drilled holes into these plastic pieces. This seems kind of flimsy if under too much stress but it is still fairly sturdy if you do not over tighten where it will strip the plastic. Also it only has 11 inches of clearance not the advertised 12.6 as my 12 inch tall drawers do not roll under. Overall, the look is sleek and modern, love the shelf with lights. And the lights are controlled with a remote or can do more settings in the app. Almost every piece has one or more spare pieces. I’d say this is a good value for what I paid since I’m patient.
