Great shoe storage
I've got to say, this was one of the easiest items to assemble from Hawkins Woodshop. They provide visual instructions, which I really appreciated. When I first opened the box, I was surprised to find a bunch of short tubes instead of the long ones I expected. I put everything aside until I had time to tackle it, not realizing it would be a breeze. I started with the long tubes, and when two wouldn’t connect, I just tried the other end and it worked. I went with the bottom shelf first, attaching one side before adding the other side to complete it. Someone had suggested assembling one side completely first, but I realized it would be tricky that way. Building it shelf by shelf made it pretty straightforward, and before I knew it, I was finished! Initially, I thought about using those plastic shoe containers, but they're not great for leather since they don't let it breathe. They could lead to peeling, and imagine the odor those boxes would trap. No thanks! The only downside I noticed is with the design of the plastic ends. They’re hollow on the underside, which doesn’t look great if you turn the rack upside down to store shoes underneath it. I’ll have to see if I can figure out a way to assemble it differently later on. Aside from that minor issue, I think this shoe rack is an deal for under $20. It looks nice, is sturdy, and does exactly what I need. I’m planning to get another one. Highly recommend!

I was really unsure if this would work in my small space and hold a few pairs of shoes and flip flops to keep my floor tidy. It fits just right. I wear size 7.5 shoes, and it holds two pairs of sneakers on each level without any issues. My croc slippers are wider, so I can only fit one pair on a level, but I just put them on the bottom under the first rack, and that works great. It’s simple to put together and feels pretty stable, even with light items or a small basket.
