Sleeping on twelve inches of foam changes what a bed feels like. The top layer is memory foam, thick enough that your shoulders and hips settle in rather than get pushed back, which is the whole point of a pressure relieving surface. Underneath sits a super thick firm support foam base that carries your weight and keeps the mattress from behaving like a hammock by morning. That base does something else worth paying for. It absorbs motion instead of passing it along, so when one person gets up at five, the other one has a fair chance of sleeping through it.
It ships compressed in a box, which is the only practical way to get a queen through a stairwell and a doorway without a second pair of hands. Cut it free, unroll it onto the frame, and give it about 48 hours to reach full size. Do not judge it on the first night. Expanded, it measures 60 inches wide by 79.5 inches deep by 12 inches high. Item dimensions are also listed as 79 by 59 by 12 inches thick, so plan for a standard queen footprint either way.
A stretch knit cover finishes the exterior. It was chosen for durability, and it flexes with the foam underneath instead of fighting it. The mattress works with most bed frames, including platform beds and adjustable bases. A foundation or box spring is not included and is sold separately, so if your current setup needs one, order it at the same time rather than discovering the gap on delivery day.
This suits a primary bedroom, a guest room, or a smaller space where a taller mattress would sit out of scale with the rest of the furniture. It is built for adult and kid use alike, which matters if it is headed for a teenager's room or a bunk. Nothing here is exotic. It is a thick memory foam comfort layer over a firm foam base, sized for a queen, shipped in a box you can move yourself.
