Great trash can but the foot pedal broke!

I bought this trash can on May 16, 2023, for my kitchen since I needed something slim. I really liked it at first—it's sturdy and fits perfectly. But after a bit of use, just with two adults at home, the foot pedal snapped off. I reached out to Hawkins Woodshop for help, and they got back to me within a day. Unfortunately, they said there wasn't much they could do and told me to contact them again. I was pretty disappointed when they said the return period had passed.
