I've put together a lot of furniture over the years, so I feel I have a decent perspective on this stand and the assembly process. First off, I was pleasantly surprised that everything arrived in perfect shape. With budget furniture, it's typical to see scratches, nicks, or dents, but that wasn’t the case here. Assembly was pretty simple, though it took a bit longer than I thought—about 30-40 minutes. Since I'm a bit particular, I spent a lot of that time removing the residue from the part number stickers on each piece. If you have a ratchet and hex head sockets, you'll save some time, but be careful not to overtighten. I did notice a couple of threaded pieces had to be cleaned up a bit, but most people could just force the bolts in without worrying. The canvas shelves for the records were pretty wrinkled from packaging, so I lightly touched them up with an iron. In the end, the finished product looks great! My daughter is thrilled with it, and I'm pleased with the whole purchase.
