Very nice and sturdy desk; looks like real wood.
This desk was easy to put together. Pay really close attention to the directions as there are only pictures and no written instructions. The cabinet that was included with the desk is very nice and sturdy too. It was also easy to put together but directions are also only in picture form. I assembled solo (in female fashion) and didn't have any issues, but having 2 people would be very helpful. I am extremely pleased with the desk and the cabinet and am excited to have it in my home office. It is very spacious and allows me to have my work computer and personal computer on the same desk top. Although the directions/pictures were helpful with the assembly, it would have helped to have larger print. Did a lot of squinting but all in all very happy with both the desk and cabinet. I thought the rods for the hanging file drawer had been left out of packaging. Contacted Hawkins Woodshop and they were very responsive. I eventually found the rods for the file drawer, but they were very hard to spot. Keep a keen eye out so you don't toss them out or think you didn't receive them. Definitely recommend the desk combo, especially if you need more desk space.

Spacious desk surface
First off, these came in 2 different boxes (expected) and each box came one day apart (not expected). The desk was simple to put together. One of those where you can just look at the pictures and know where to put things. 1 drawback: one of the steps used the wrong hardware number but, again, from pictures, you could figure it out. The desk surface is 3 separate slabs of wood. Although I would have to be careful with small debris getting into the creases, I am willing to do so because of how nice it looks with the black splice. It's sturdy with ample surface area for 2-24" monitors, a laptop (which I am able to put away for a nice clean look), a keyboard and mouse. I would still have enough room to do small projects. I like the baffle because I could use it like a peg board for cable management. The file cabinet is a different story. I couldn't use the instructions as a step-by-step guide as one of the panels had the holes drilled in the wrong place. Luckily, it was just for the small drawer. I was able to put it together with some drywall anchors and screws. There's still a gap between the face and the box but it's functional and looks as if nothing was wrong. Other than that, the black paint was chipped or coming off. At least they're on the edges and can be covered. Overall happy with the purchase. Wish there was a bookcase with the same style.
