Sturdy and well-made
I'm really impressed with this solid wood furniture! It was easy for me to put together on my own, and I'm just a regular guy in my twenties. I think others might benefit from getting help with assembly, though. After a few nights of using it, I find it comfortable whether I'm sitting or lying down.

Just got this and I have to say, Hawkins Woodshop really nailed it with the packaging and the instructions. Each hardware piece is neatly arranged in a cardboard tray, and they’re all numbered. The directions are straightforward, plus they included colored stickers to help match everything up, which makes it easy to avoid putting things on the wrong way. The furniture is solid and has a nice walnut stain. The mattress came separately and only arrived a day after the frame, which was! Just a tip for assembly: keep the screws between the back stretcher and the arm a bit loose when you’re getting the bed frame set into place. Once it’s in, you can tighten them up. That step is in the instructions, and it’s helpful.

This futon is made of solid wood and is one of the best quality ones I've found. I added a 3-inch memory foam topper and it’s perfect overall. It can be a bit tricky to close by yourself, but I just attached a hand strap to the top center of the backrest, which helped a lot. Made closing it much easier! The instructions are great too, with color-coded wood pieces. I'd give it a 10 out of 10. Plus, great customer service from Colby!
