I haven't used the app yet, but I'm really happy with these lights. They're bright and surprisingly lightweight since the bulbs are made of plastic. I got the 100 ft. Set to stretch across a 60 ft. Area, which gave it a lovely swag look. I also appreciated the plug-in length; it was about 10 feet before the first light. This made it easy to connect to my outdoor socket without needing an extension cord to reach my pole.

I've used these lights over our back patio and even draped them through our trees, and they look fantastic. They're sturdy, and the setup was a breeze. The app is easy to use and intuitive. In just a few minutes, I had everything set up and ready to illuminate my space with one voice command. Unfortunately, after a severe storm, the patio lights stopped working about a year later. I recently got the 150-foot "G40" patio lights and I'm really happy with them. With 75 lights spread out over that distance, they’re spaced nicely at 24 inches apart, which is different from what I’ve used before. The string allows for a good lead from the plug, making it easy to position everything as needed. It’s important to place the control unit close to your Wi-Fi to get it working well, though, since it connects to the 2.4Ghz band. I did bump the bulbs a bit during installation, but they feel incredibly sturdy and were just fine. I hung them using small threaded hooks on my patio beams. I love that I can control these lights with my smart speaker or the app on my phone. It’s pretty great to just say, “Alexa, turn on the patio lights at 20 percent” and they light up right away. I’m not tech-savvy, but linking up the app and syncing everything was pretty simple, though I did need to reinstall the app a couple of times to get everything set perfectly. What's cool is that the G40 lights can be set to turn on and off at specific times through the app, so I have it set to come on at 9pm every day and turn off at 1am. The app even texts you when the lights switch on or off at the scheduled times. Beyond the product, I have to say Hawkins Woodshop is top-notch in quality and support. This is my fifth purchase from them for outdoor lights, and I’m consistently impressed with their products and the help they offer after the sale.

I’m planning to waterproof the connections by sealing them with silicone and putting the control box in a plastic container since the connectors were letting in water and got loose.
