Firm foam mattress
If you want to err on the side of firm, this is a great mattress! However, I needed to add a 3inch mattress topper and a soft mattress pad to get the softness I wanted. The mattress came in a small and heavy box like I expected and I followed the manufacture direction for it to expand. No problem with unevenness or sides. It was probably ready for me to sleep on it that evening but I waited for the time recommended. It is super comfortable and I have had it for eight months and it is still super supportive and no signs of wear. I don't know if it is cooling, but I do not feel like the foam is making me hot. Even in the winter with a pretty good comforter, it is comfortable. With summer coming to a hot end, it is great. Great mattress for the money.

Great and comfortable mattress. Easy to unpack and also sturdy yet easy and light enough to flip over and the mattress cover is convenient. It fully expands in a matter of hours.
