I picked up the 6-inch foam and spring hybrid mattress from Hawkins Woodshop, and it's been good so far. I've only had it for a few days, so there's not much to report yet, but everything seems to be functioning well. Some folks mentioned rotating their mattresses and feeling the springs, which is a mistake since you shouldn't flip hybrid foam mattresses. Just stick to the soft side. I was also concerned about any chemical smell, but this one had none at all. I aired it out in a well-ventilated basement, and there was no fragrance whatsoever. I’m really happy with this mattress! It arrived earlier than expected, which was a nice surprise. UPS delivered it right to my front step, even in the rain, and it was well packaged. Getting it upstairs was a bit of a challenge for me as I’m 5'2" and getting older, but I managed! I noticed on the box it says to unpack it within 72 hours for the best inflation, which I appreciate knowing. I had previously bought a twin from this brand, and it was also great. I wonder if some mixed reviews are due to people not seeing that unpacking information. Either way, I’ll be sure to let this one inflate fully before putting it on my bed tomorrow. The firmness is just right, and it feels soft, too. Recommend it! Don’t skip that 72-hour tip; I doubt they’d mention it if it wasn’t important. I got a kick out of the funny warning on the box as well. The price was spot on too! UPDATE: I’ve had it for a while now, and while I still like it, I wish it had a bit more support on the sides. I’m going to move it to my second bedroom (the bed needs a softer touch) and ordered a taller, firmer mattress instead. This one is 10 inches, so that was my mistake. In the end, I bought additional foam and toppers to get to a height I wanted. It taught me a lesson about checking for height and support right away.

I have to be straight with you about this mattress situation because it's such a big deal when buying one. My husband and I aren't exactly small folks—we're each about 100 lbs over what we should be, but hey, we're working on it! The reason I'm sharing this is that our size means we've really tested this mattress out since we got it in August, and honestly, it's been! I'm primarily a side sleeper but sometimes switch to my back, and my husband sleeps on his back. We both sleep soundly on this bed! We initially grabbed this mattress as a stopgap after moving 2200 miles, planning to upgrade later. But now, it’s coming with us to our new home! This saves us from spending more on a new one, which is a win given all the other costs of the move! To compare, we previously had a Lucid 10" mattress, which we shelled out $349 for. It started off okay but formed a divot that was just terrible for sleeping. We even had sweaty nights in winter, which was no fun at all! Keeping that mattress for 18 months was a mistake; I ended up sleeping in a recliner just to avoid it! In short, no more mattress shopping for us! If we ever need another, it’ll be this one again. We're already looking to get a Queen for the guest room and an 8" Twin for the kids. Seriously, this is the best choice for our family!
