This piece is made in Thailand and has a lovely finish that really shows its quality. I want to mention three things: 1. Style 2. Assembly 3. Usefulness. 1. Style: This item scores an A++ for style. I adore the finish, and it's tall enough to serve as a buffet table or credenza, which is a nice touch. The spacious top is for displaying pictures and knickknacks. Right now, I'm using one as a sofa table, giving my guests another spot to set things down. 2. Assembly: Putting it together was easy. Unlike some other products, the instructions were clear and simple to follow. I’m glad I stuck to the step-by-step guide. All the hardware felt strong, and none of the bolts stripped out, even though I used both hand tools and power tools carefully. It took me about 30 minutes to assemble, which isn't too shabby. 3. Just what we needed
This is exactly what we wanted! It looks fantastic. We got two—one for our Chihuahua and one for our Yorkshire Terrier. We added a comfy pad at the bottom to keep the wood safe, and it works great for their beds and blankets. We even attached food and water dishes, and we have puppy pads for when we’re at work. I got a large and a small crate table from Hawkins Woodshop a while ago, but I just put them together and started using them recently. They’re both great sizes! The large one is perfect for my Pit Bull, who can comfortably walk in and turn around without any issue. She even sleeps well inside it. The small one works well for my two older lap dogs. They’ve been crate trained for years, so crating isn’t new to them. One dog sleeps in the back and the other by the door. These tables have made a huge difference, replacing those bulky wire crates that my Pit Bull used to scratch against. This crate is a solid deal. It looks just like the pictures, goes together easily, and everything from the instructions to the hardware worked without a hitch. It's mostly made of real wood, likely pine or rubberwood, with some plywood or MDF at the bottom, and I didn't see any issues with the stain or finish. If your dog isn't crate trained yet, you might want to consider a standard metal crate instead. This isn't a bad crate, but if a dog really wants out, they'll find a way. If you're planning to use it for kennel training while you're out, look for something more secure. I was going to build my own crate to match our furniture but found this one instead. The stain closely matches our bedroom set, it's made of real wood, and at $205 with tax and free shipping, it was worth a shot. I would’ve easily spent over $200 on materials like wood, glue, and stain to make my own. Good looking but not tough enough
Overall, the crate looks really nice and was easy to put together. The instructions were clear, and my husband and I managed to get it done in less than half an hour, even though we're not great at assembling stuff. Just a heads-up: make sure you don't lose any of the fittings, especially the springs, because if you do, you'll have a tough time with the doors. We lost one and had to figure something out to fix it. Now, I originally got the XL size for my flat-coated retriever who weighs around 80 lbs, and he likes it. There's plenty of space for him compared to his old travel crate, and he settles well inside. However, when he gets anxious and scratches at the door, I can see how easily it could break if he wanted out. So, while it works fine for him most of the time, I wouldn't be comfortable leaving him alone in it for too long. In short, it's a nice crate for a chill dog, but if you have a pup that tends to get stressed or is a strong chewer, this probably won't hold up. Just keep that in mind.

Great crate for our small dogs!
We got the large crate for our two smaller dogs that share it, and we really love how it looks compared to the old wire one we used for years. It feels like a nice piece of furniture! Putting it together was pretty simple; doing it solo is doable, but having someone to help is a plus. One of our pups loves to chew, so we wanted to make it a bit more chew-proof. We got 1/4 inch hardware cloth from a local store, and the 10’ x 2’ size worked perfectly; just had to cut the length a bit, and the height was spot on. The #8 x 1/2” screws were ideal for this since they fit right with the cloth. I’ve seen people suggest using plexiglass, but I found the hardware cloth easier to deal with. Just remember to drill pilot holes and be careful with the sharp edges! Overall, it’s made a nice difference in our living room—it's functional and looks good too. Our cats have even taken to using it as a lookout! The only small downside is the door hinge design; it's a peg system and can be a bit tricky since the door rubs a little when opening. We just lift it a bit to make it smoother and plan to add a handle for easier use. I might also throw in an anti-fatigue mat for comfort and to quiet the sounds of the dogs moving around. So far, we’re happy with this crate and would recommend it!
